Although over the years the introduction of new policies, laws and legal protection and prosecution of perpetrators. We are aware that Locally and Nationally there remains gaps in understanding by front-line staff and other services in regards to Equality and inclusion and provision of services that meet the needs of women from diverse backgrounds. Amadudu continue to advocate for women adversely impacted by services that provide barriers to women.
“We work with Housing providers to ensure they understand the risks and further abuse a family would experience as a result of being re-housed in a location reknown for high levels of racism and discrimination” We work to ensure women and children settle into homes in safe environments so they can continue to heal and live happier lives.
We work with Strategic Domestic Violence leadership team in for the City Region, to have input to new strategies and how they impact on Black and Minority Ethnic Women/children. We work ensure our work adds value to Police Crime Commission and Local Authority Strategic Aims and believe that Amadudu add value to the service offer in terms of Equality and Inclusion.
At Amadudu we recognise that our work with a woman is a temporary part of their life. The ethos of the refuge is to avoid being ‘institutional’ and enable independence.
